In search of grey gold - pilot project

Before clay becomes anything useful, someone has to go and find it. This is the story of the first time I went looking, with a dog, a small shovel, and more optimism than equipment.

It took a failed attempt at a lake, a swampy detour into the forest, and a bucket that got heavier with every step back to the car. The clay was there all along. It just needed someone stubborn enough to dig for it.
